Verify a custom sender domain

Custom sender domains are available on Pro. They let customer documents come from an address on a domain the merchant controls.

Open Docket → Email delivery → Sender domain.

Add the domain

Enter the domain or subdomain you want to send from, such as mail.example.com. Choose the sender name, the email name before @, and an optional reply address. Docket then shows the setup records supplied by the email service.

Add DNS records

Sign in to the DNS provider that manages the domain and add every displayed record exactly:

• record type;
• host/name;
• value/target;
• priority when shown.

Do not add https://. Some DNS providers automatically append the root domain; follow their preview so the final host is not duplicated.

DKIM and SPF are standard email-security records. They prove that Docket's email service is allowed to send mail from your domain. Add every record Docket shows, including any verification or return-address records.

Verify

Return to Docket and choose Verify DNS. Domain changes can take time to appear. Docket shows the status of each record and uses the new sender only after every required record is ready.

Until setup is complete, Docket keeps using its verified default sender so customer emails continue to go out.

Common problems

• Host duplicated: enter only the subdomain portion when the DNS provider appends the domain.
• Proxy enabled: email DNS records usually need DNS-only mode rather than an HTTP proxy.
• Old SPF record: a domain should not have multiple competing SPF TXT records. Merge authorized senders according to the DNS provider's guidance.
• Still pending: wait for the changes to appear and check again; do not repeatedly delete and recreate correct records.

Never send a DNS-provider password or API token to Docket support. A screenshot of the record names and pass/fail states is enough; redact unrelated domain records.
